Mohan: Promoting environmental awareness alongside educational support, the Kiran Foundation organised a tree plantation and educational material distribution programme at Composite School, Mohan, under its “Ek Paudha Maa Ke Naam” (A Sapling in Mother’s Name) campaign.
The programme was inaugurated by Deepesh Kumar, Block Education Officer (BEO), Hasanganj, who attended as the chief guest. Among the dignitaries present were Samarjit Yadav, Chairman of Mohan, Mohsin Raza, Councillor, Mohan, and Gauri Savariya, Councillor and Patron of the Kiran Foundation.
The event began with the plantation of saplings by the guests, teachers and students, symbolising a shared commitment to environmental conservation. Addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted the crucial role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, supporting biodiversity and ensuring a healthier future. Students were encouraged to actively participate in plantation drives and take responsibility for nurturing the saplings they plant.
As part of its educational outreach, the Kiran Foundation distributed free stationery and learning materials to all 300 students of the school, reinforcing its commitment to supporting children’s education. To make the occasion more memorable, the students were also treated to snacks, fruit drinks and sweets, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The programme was coordinated by Charul Chandra, Teacher-in-Charge of the school, who ensured its smooth execution. In her vote of thanks, she expressed appreciation to the chief guest, dignitaries, members of the Kiran Foundation, teachers, parents and volunteers for their valuable support in making the initiative a success.
The event concluded with a renewed pledge by students and participants to contribute towards a greener environment while continuing to promote education and community welfare through collective action.
